Fultons Crab House dinner in downtown disney

Fultons Crab House

From the moment you walk into Fulton's Crab house, you feel welcomed, surrounded by friendly staff and beautiful decoration. Upon checking it, we were told to wait a few minutes for our table, the restaurant was busy, and we could notice that the guests were happy and enjoying the food; we decided to get drinks at the bar to enjoy one of the many different cocktails, beer and wines they have... from chardonnay to pinot grigio,  merlot, champagne, local beers, mojito and martinis, you will find your preferred drink selection while they assign your table. After enjoying one of their signature cocktails, while talking to the friendly bartender, we were then seated upstairs overviewing Downtown Disney, and were greeted by the best waitress, Ashley... she was kind, funny and very attentive, she also knew the menu very well. We asked her what she would order and without hesitation she suggested the "Lobster corndogs" for appetizer and "Ahi tuna" for main course, all this after asking if any in our party had food allergies... we believe this is very important.
After getting our drinks, and discussing our appetizer options with her, we were ready to order appetizers. We trusted Ashley and ordered the "Lobster corndogs" and a "Crab cake".  While waiting for our appetizers, we were served warm bread with butter and crackers with a crab dip... one word: Delicious! it was very hard to stop eating that, but we wanted to save room for our meal.
The lobster corndogs were served with salsa verde and sweet chili aioli, enough to share... crispy on the outside and warm delicious lobster on the inside, a perfect start to our dining experience!, the crab cake was blue crab, with roasted corn maque choux, fried green tomato, and remoulade sauce... let us tell you, we are crab cake fanatics and this one is one of the best we have had. We decided to order a third appetizer, with so many options to choose from, we wanted to try a little bit of everything.. we went for the "King Crab Claws", which were the best king crab claws we have tasted. They shell is cut for easy access to the crab and ready to dip in the warm melted butter, the meat is as tender as it could get.
After finishing our appetizers, we were ready to order the main courses... "Ahi tuna" and the "Florida grouper". The Ahi tuna was wood grilled medium rare, with a papaya and mango salsa,  vinaigrette and broccolini on the side, cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Grouper was grilled served with a side of house guacamole, artichokes, spinach and cherry tomato sauce. Both entrees were delicious and the meat was tender, perfect sized too, portions are not small here. After enjoying our meal, it was dessert time!... always, always save room for dessert =)
As you might imagine, we are dessert lovers... we ordered desserts to share: "Classic tollhouse cookie sundae": delicious chocolate chip cookie, served with vanilla bean ice cream, topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream,  "Chocolate crème brulee": dark chocolate custard topped with caramelized sugar and berries, and the "Flourless chocolate cake": vanilla bean mascarpone and raspberry coulis, strong dark chocolate flavor paired perfectly with a back coffee or a strong espresso. They also offer specialty dessert cocktails like "Chocolate raspberry martini" If you ask us which one was our favorite dessert, we would have to say: "All of them!!".. the cookie was warm and tasted like heaven with the vanilla ice cream, the crème brulee was sweet and creamy in the inside and the caramelized sugar on the outside was crispy and finally, the flourless cake had a delicious chocolate flavor.
Thinking about that one family member or friend who is not a big seafood fan? Do not worry!! they have chicken and different cuts of meats as well, the kids menu also has hamburgers and mac and cheese, among other items for the little ones who prefer to eat meat over seafood. Fulton's makes sure your entire family leaves full, whether you are a meat eater or a fish eater. This place is a real treat if you are looking for a classy dining experience that doesn't require you to get dressed up. It is important to highlight that the restaurant offers different dining rooms, each one of them with unique decoration and different views of either the lake or Downtown Disney, or you can also ask for an outside table if you want to make your dining experience more romantic and dine under the stars on one of their three outdoor decks , or you can also host a private event at this location. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am everyday and offers several lunch options like soups, salads and sandwiches, dinner starts at 4 o'clock. Their wine cellar holds more than 2,000 bottles a fitting showcase for our eleven-time Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winning wine selection, heaven for the wine lover.
Next time you visit the Downtown Disney area, make sure you stop by "Fulton's Crabhouse", It can't be missed... it's the Giant Steamship sitting on the water, right next to Portobello.
Reservations are not required, but does not hurt you to make one, specially if you want to take advantage of their outside seating area overviewing the lake to enjoy our beautiful Florida weather. Whether you visit them for lunch to try one of their light menu items, or to enjoy a relaxing evening, their staff will make sure you have an amazing experience and delicious meal.
